ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT & TUTORING STRATEGY
When you come to Scholars seeking tutoring services for your child, we begin with an assessment consultation. We review available classwork and homework, test scores, progress reports, report cards, school online activity statements, etc.
We listen to your observations regarding the academic ups and downs your child is experiencing. And, we chat with your son/daughter to hear what he/she has to say about their learning obstacles. We are then able to provide you with our recommendations for the best tutoring strategy and timeline.

We tutor all mainstream subjects and disciplines– from fundamental to
Honors / AP/ IB / GE College
MATHEMATICS / LANGUAGE ARTS / SCIENCES / HISTORY / SPANISH / and more
Most of our tutoring is 1:1. We match students with tutors who will best address the student’s needs – subject, skills, grades/GPA, learning challenges. Our tutors are able to provide instruction at all levels, from fundamental to Honors, A/P, IB.
Our unique, tried-and-true strategy is determined on a number of important factors regarding your child – age, grade level, homework history, tests, progress reports, grades, and understanding of any underlying issues that may be contributing to decline in achievement and difficulty keeping up with classes – all of which we take into consideration when we map out the specific course of action for your child.

SHORT-TERM TUTORING:

For students needing academic guidance for a longer time period. Many students hit
slumps in school for many reasons – poor study skills, lack of interest,
learning disabilities, personal problems, etc.
TUTORING FOR ONLINE CLASSES
More and more high school students are taking online academic courses,
(such as those offered by BYU, Laurel Springs, APEX, Options for Youth, etc.) for
credits transferable to their transcripts. Whether making up for failed classes or
getting ahead in subjects, our tutors work with students taking online classes,
helping with content, pacing, writing and other projects, quiz and test prep.
